Dear Bee, September 17. The Hon. C. H. and Mrs Mills were At Home to a number of their friends, chiefly members of Parliament and their wives on Saturday afternoon. It was a lovely spring day, so that the guests could go outside and sit in the chairs which were placed about the lawn and hear the excellent music provided by a band there. There was also some very enjoyable music to be heard indoors. Some of the performers were Aliss Mills, Mrs Baillie, Airs Wilson, Sir Joseph Ward and Air R Robertson, and Mrs Ross recited. The rooms were charmingly decorated with jonquils and other sweet spring flowers. The dining-room looked very pretty, the table being arranged artistically with flowers and laden with a wonderful assortment of dainties. Air and Airs Mills received in the drawing-room.
