A pleasing incident occurred at .the Parnell District Football Club's room on Aug. 12, when Mr F. Tomluisen presented to the Parnell Rugby Football Club seven enlarged photographs of tire old Parnell players, including a picture of the old Grafton Football Club, .and one of a meet of cyclists in the time when the old “ordinary” was in, vogue. Mr G. Chevis, secretary, responded on behalf of the club.
The Pakuranga Hunt Club drew a blank on Saturday, though a vigorous search was made over Messrs Harris’, Luther’s, Lushington’s and Andrews’ properties and the surrounding scoria country. The members present, included Mesdames Kelly and O’ftorke, Misses M. Gorrie, Want, Abbott, George and Harris, and Mr O’Rorke (master), the huntsman and whip, Messrs Wjajler, Eliott. Myers, .Gray, Davis* Wallis (2), Holmes, Cueksey, Burns, Lloyd, Harris (2), Rarch, Caque, and several others.
The Christchurch Gun Club's £5O National Handicap Pigeon Match was shot oil' at Heathcote Grounds recently' (New Zealand Inanimate Pigeon Association rules). The stakes were divided between Messrs Fraser (33 yards), “Cashmere” (25 yards), McCarthy (24 yards), If. Hunter .(24 yards), G. R. King (20 yards), who killed all their birds. Mr Fraser," Mr G. R. King and Mr O. Hunter were using the Colonial Ammunition Company “Favourite” cartridges.
