WELLINGTON.
Dear Bee, May 14. The Port Nicholson Yaeht Club held their annual dance in the Sydney-street Hall on Wednesday. The decorations were very elaborate in all the rooms, grat palms and pot plants being used to make them look pretty, and on small tables here and there were bowls of lovely flowers—cosmos, chrysanthemums, and various other kinds. Supper was laid in the Gymnasium Hall, which was also decorated with flowers and greenery, and both in this and in the ballroom the bare walls were hidden with bright flags. The music was supplied by Fleming’s band. Among those present were Mrs (Dr.) Fell, wearing a rich black brocade gown with berth? of white lace and chiffon; Mrs C. J. Cooper, in black satin, effectively trimmed with twinecoloured insertion; Mrs Butt, in black silk and lace; Miss Butt wore cream merveilleux with lace berthe and flowers: Mrs Rawson, handsome peach-eoloured satin with chiffon to match and lace; Miss Rawson, pink satin g >wn, shirred and softened with chiffon: Miss E. Rawson. a soft white gown with lace berthe; Mrs Symonds, white satin and lace gown; Mrs Mee, blaek satin with lace berthe; Mrs Arthur Young wore white satin with chiffon folds: Mrs Bueholz, blaek satin gown with berthe of cream lace and flowers; Miss Hislop, blaek satin gown, the bodice trimmed with white lace and velvet: Miss Harcourt had a yellow silk and chiffon gown; Miss Fell, in black satin, the bodice trimmed with jet: her sister was in white; Miss Mclntcsh wore a blue silk gown with white lace; Miss Simpson, in a white satin gown with chiffon folds on the corsage: Miss Joseph, in soft white silk, elaborately tucked and trimmed with lace and twisted crimson velvet: Miss Fitzgerald wore white satin with jewelled passementerie and lace; Miss Nelson (Auckland). in pale yellow silk with lace berthe; Miss Finch, pale blue crepe de chine, trimmed with brocaded ribbon; Miss M. Finch wore a pretty pink gown: Miss Haeon. in a soft white silk gown; Miss B. Miles, in a bright pink gown with lace berthe: Miss Stafford, in blaek with white laee; her sister was in white silk: Miss McGregor wore yellow satin, trimmed with white laee and flowers; Miss Madge McGregor wore white satin and laee; Miss Nathan, in white silk and chiffon: Miss Seed, in a black gown, trimmed with white lace. A great deal of interest has been taken in the visit of the wonderful little boat "Tilikum,” which is at present
making a tour of the world. She has been on view in the Skating Rink, where hundreds of people went to see her and to hear some of the experiences so graphically told by Captain Voss and Mr Buekerage, her daring “erew.”
