The launching was in every way successful. The yacht presents a very handsome appearance. She has a white hull picked out in chocolate and gold. A branch of Ilex, the ever-green oak, is carved out at the stern and at the bows. The yacht is 50 feet overall, 11 feet beam, and draws a little over five feet of water. She is yawl rigged, and her masts and spars are of Oregon pine. She carries a generous spread of sail. Aft there is a roomy cockpit. The mein cabin is Somewhat on the large, size, being fourteen feet in length. It is nicely decorated, and the seats arranged on each side are comfortably up,holstere<l. Forward cf this cabin are the lavatory ana crew’s quarters. The Ilex has speedy lines, but notwithstanding this the builders have been enabled to turn out a roomy boa*.
