The Value of Massage.

It is a mistake to suppose that the utility of massage is limited to the removal of wrinkles.

It helps to keep both face and figure shapely. Equally erroneous is it to think that an occasional visit to a practitioner will suffice. The massage should be of daily occurrence, and for economical reasons it may be carried out at home. I shall here deal with the face and neck only. Commence by baring the neck and shoulders. Indeed, if circumstances allow, the upper garments should be removed entirely, as they will get wetted. Wash with soap and water. Rinse with warm water. Then add one teaspoonful of some good fluid organic food to a wineglassful of water. Place this in a small vessel, say a cup, and set tne latter in the washing basin. Take up as much as the palm will hold, and rub it over the face, making the movements described in the previous article. Then sweep the hand from the face round each angle of the jaw to the neck. Tilt the head back, and pass the hand firmly from the chin downwards in a rapid series of movements. Pinch up hollowed cheeks. Rub over face and neck a dessertspoonful of undiluted fluid food. Work as before. Let the face remain unwashed and unwiped for ten minutes after ceasing the labour, and finally rinse in two supplies of cold water.

I do not guarantee that the beauty of Venus will result, but it is very

certain that if the instructions are carried out daily the faee and neck will improve appreciably within a fortnight, and that the improvement will be continued. Women, in many eases, seem to lose all reason over skin treatment. Tney pay from ten to fifty guineas for a course of “treatment” at the establishment of some quack, ignorant of medical science, and using unfit remedies, when one-tenth the sum. rightly invested, aided by a slight personal effort, would bring about incomparably better results.
