Ou Friday evening about thirty of them went tu the Scotch concert, which was a well organised entertainment given at the Theatre Koya I. The strong choir greatly distinguished themselves under the conductorship of Mr H. Martin, and their “March of the Cameron Men” opened the second part of the programme. Mrs F. L. Jones, the possessor of a sweet voice, sang several times, as did Mr Newton, who was particularly successful in his rendering of “The Laird o’ Cockpeu.” Much applause also fell to the lot of Miss Large, one of whose songs was “Cornin' Thro* the Rye," with Miss accompaniment. Recitations were capitally given by Air T. Parker. Miss McLean executed amongst other solos some Scotch selections. The other accompanists were Mrs Prime and Miss Cole.

The attraction at the Hawke's Buy tennis courts on Saturday afternoon was the match. Hastings v. Napier. Twelve players were chosen from each club — Me'sdaines Manneriug and Smith. Misses Fitzßoy (2), Ward, Enright, and Messrs. F., H.. 11. and N. Braithwaite. Mannering and Fenwick for Napier; Mrs. McKay. Misses IL and I". Hitehings. Cotterill, Sutton, Rees, and Messrs. Hartley. Parker. Dinwiddie, Macfarlane, Clark and Bradley for Napier. The latter club was victorious by S games to 4, or 708 games to 634. The combined doubles were equally divided. Napier won all the men's doubles and two out of three of the ladies' doubles. Tea was given by the Misses Hunter. A large number of people were present. Airs. Hitehings, white sailor costume with a red tie. chip hat trimmed with red chiffon; the Misses K. and U. Hitehings wore white anil pahgreen: Miss Heath, blaek and white: Miss J. Heath, pale blue figured silk trimmed with blaek velvet, sailor hat: Airs. Bowen, dark blue: Mrs. Nantes, stylish fawn dress with pink waistcoat aud hat 1 rimmed with pink ribbon to match: Aliss Macfarlane, hoiland coat and skirt, toque relieved with heliotrope: Miss Fitzßoy, white muslin; Airs. Steadman had a pretty blaek and white dress, black hat; Miss Seale, white and pink; Miss Cornford, pale grey, sailor hat: Aliss Take, handsome black silk, large hat to match: Aliss N. Cotterill, pale blue zephyr, sailor hat; Miss Sutton, light blouse, dark skirt; Airs. McKay, fresh white pique coat and skirt.

An enjoyable euchre party was given on Tuesday evening by Miss Cotterill, of Fitzroy Road. Amongst the guests were the Misses Kettle. Seale, Sincox (Porongahau), Balfour, Heath, Hoadley, anil Messrs. Clark, Parker. Dent, Broad. Dinwiddie. Jones, etc. After the euchre a most enjoyable dance took place on the wide verandah. MARJORIE.
