CURED.
The Eminent, whose observation of social incidents is illimitable, declares he knew of the ease of a shrewd woman curing- her husband of staying out late o’ nights by going to the door when he came home and whispering softly through the keyhole, “Is that you, Charlie?” The hubby’s name was Tom, and he came home earlier after that, and purchased a stout cowhide in the event of Charlie’s appearance upon the scene. The wife refused explanations, but the expedient worked.
