Dear Bee, May i. On Saturday afternoon a farewell AFTERNOON TEA was given by Mrs Jackson, for her sister, Mrs Bedlington, who left in the ‘Tasmania’ last Tuesday. The house was tastefully arranged with chrysanthemums and autumnal leaves Songs and piano solos passed away the afternoon in a very pleasant manner. A few I recollect present were Mesdamts Reynolds, E. Reynolds, Osmond, Jones, Mac Lean, Fitchett. Ulrich, Turton, Shand, Frazer, Branson, Ramsay, Bartieman, Finker, Gilkison. Gow, Williams, Rattray, Allen, Richards, Ritchie, Macassey, Haggitt, Gibson, Hislop, Morris,

Brent, Driver, Walcott, Hodgkins, Wright, Finch, Hargood, Hart. Theomin The evening of the same day Mrs Finch (Royal Terrace), gave a SMALL EVENING PARTY. Those present were Misses Mac Lean, Gilkison, Shand, Kempthorne, Robinson, Hislop, Ramsay, Messrs Moore, Bransoh, Gully, Hughes, Mac Lean, Shaud, Ramsay, and one or two others. On Monday evening Mrs Reynolds gave a SMALL EVENING PARTY, about thirty people being present. Some of those I remember were Mesdames Rose, Reynolds, L. Reynolds, Butterworth, C. Rattray, Misses Wright, Sise, M. Sise, Roberts, L. Roberts, Rattray, F. Rattray, Robinson, Mills, Boyd, Messrs Ritchie, Sise, Turner, Sievwright, MacPherson, Campbell, Sergeant, Butterworth, Rattray, Reynolds, Chaffey, and Black. Another small evening was given by Mrs Wright. ‘ Bishopscourt House,’ as usual, looked charming with its numbers of pot plants and cut flowers, which w-ere in all the rooms and hall. Some present were Mesdames Wright, J. Wright, Sargood, Misses Wright, G. Wright, Reynolds, R. Reynolds, M. Reynolds, Sise, M. Sise, Bartieman, Macassey, Neill, Messrs Wright, Campbell, Mac Lean, MacPherson, Reid, Morris, C. Morris, Reynolds, G. Ritchie, Tapley, Sise, Sergeant, Black, Ayres, and others. The same night Mrs J. M. Ritchie gave a SMALL DINNER PARTY at her residence, ‘ Ralviado,’ for Mrs Henry Rose. The dinner table was arranged in a pretty manner, and the party passed off very merri’y. Another dinner party was also given on Thursday night by Mrs Janies Mills at her residence, ‘ Mount Lodge. ’ On Wednesday afternoon Mrs A. Morris gave A LUNCHEON PARTY for Mrs Izard (Wellington), who is at present a guest of Mrs George Turnbu'l (George-street). The table looked extremelv pretty decorated with beautifully tinted autumn leaves and chrysanthemums. Amongst those present were Mr Morris, Mrs Morris, Miss Morris, Miss E. Morris, Mrs Izard, Mrs Turnbull, Mrs Ridings, Mrs Ogston, Mrs Webster. Mrs Ulrich, Mr and Mrs Oliver, etc.
