HUNTING.

The Pakuranga Hunt Club bold their first meet of the season at the Master’s residence, ‘ Arborfield,’ Ellerslie, Auckland, on Saturday, May 15th, at one o'clock. There was a large meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Hounds on Wednesday, when those who assembled had a hard day’s hunting, which was universally declared to have been the best of the season. The ground was rather sodden owing to the recent floods, and it was found best to keep as nearly as possible to the hills. Unfortunately, Mr E. D. Herrick had a nasty fall, but though picked up unconscious, he soon recovered. One or two other accidents happened, though nothing of a very serious character.
