We didn’t get home till 3 a.m , but fatigue had bsen quite forgotten in the enjoyment of the evening. ENTERTAINMENTS BY MRS AND THE MISSES RUTHERFORD. On Tuesday Mrs Rutherford gave an afternoon tea at Brookwood, at which only married ladies were present. I hear thnt it was very pleasant indeed. On Friday the Misses Rutherford had a delightful afternoon for their girl friends. Among them were the Misses Woolecombe, Hassel), Cooper, Nantes, Allen, A. Cramond, McKerras (Dunedin), Hall and Sims. Music was contributed by the Misses Rutherford, C. Woolecombe, B. Hall, and M. Cooper. One look at the prettily-arranged table, or rather one taste of the dainties thereon, was quite sufficient to convince anyone that they hailed from the ‘ land o’ cakes.’ Next week I hope to be able to tell you of the races and sports, and the gaieties connected therewith. Estelle.
