Will Russian Boots Bring Longer Skirts?

Will the Russian boot craze do something towards lengthening our skirts ? Lady Angela Forbes, an English authority of fashion, says: "I shouldn't be at all surprised if it brought them down a good six inches, for we have never seen anything uglier than these boots worn in conjunction with a kneelength skirt and showing a gap of flesh-coloured calf between boot and skirt! "There may be prejudice on my part, but tradition is hard to die, and we remember being taught many years ago that however untidy we liked to look, we must be scrupulously correct in every detail when we donned our habit. "The first thing to remember on

those occasions was that there must be no gap of any sort between the breeches and the boot. To have shown the faintest line of stocking would have proclaimed one ignorant of the first rules of dressing for the chase. These gaps which I see in the streets shock my sense of good dressing terribly."
