A PAGE for the CHILDREN

Dear Children, — As I promised you, I am this month publishing the result of the September’s Essay Competition. The prize of ss. (five shillings) has been won by Aisla Yarcoe, who lives at Palmerston North, and if her brother is a really truly one, I think he must be a very good brother to have, and I am sure Aisla thinks so, too. I think the boys must have been too shy to write about “My Sister,’’ and as none of the competitors were under 11 years of age I have only awarded one prize this month. I hope you have all had a very good time through the holidays, and are ready to be very busy bees at school this year, for, do you know, the busiest of working bees is happier than the very laziest of drones. Yours affectionately, 0 0 0 Aunt Jane.
