Auckland Branch.

The branch is in a sound financial position, the night nurses' quarters at the Club much appreciated, and the general working very satisfactory. The Club is kept busy. A series of winter functions have been inaugurated to bring the nurses into closer touch with one another, and for their mutual benefit. Dr. Paget gave us a very interesting lecture, which was well attended and much appreciated by those doing maternity work, his simple sterilising appliances being the envy of many. Rules. — A Sub-Committee has been appointed to go into the revision of rules. There are very few alterations necessary, and these will be put before a general meeting later. New Members. — The following have joined since April : — Misses Waller, A. L. Voss, F. Wibley, I. Hood, L. M. Walker, C. Graham. B. G. Graham, A. M. Scott, M. Couper, M. Whisker. Resignation. — Mrs. Oliphant has resigned from our Council after continuous in ember ship from the beginning. We deeply regret losing her and will miss her from our midst, for she has been such a helpful worker for the Association's good ever since its inception. Miss Statham (War Graves Inspector) has undertaken the care of a nurse's grave at O'Neill's Point Cemetery, and has also offered to care for any nurse's grave should she find it not cared for, free of charge. We thank her. Miss Preece, Auckland Hospital, writes from her hospital, St. Andrew's, Ho Chien Fu, North China Mission, that she is back at her hospital after being very ill herself, but is sufficiently recovered to go on with her work. She finds it hard as times are so troublous, and the wounded as well as the usual flow of sick, are brought to her. Miss Hall, who went out to China with Miss Preece, is at present in Auckland on furlough. K. E. DEVEREUX, Hon. Sec.
