Stolen, on the 10th September, 1874, between the hours of 4 and 5 p.m., from the shop of Mr. George Heslop, Whately Road, a brown holland dress, flounced on bottom and a small flounce about half-way - up, trimmed with brown braid. Identifiable.

Stolen, between the 12th August and Bth September, 1874, from the stable belonging to Cassidy and Clarke, at Castle Ilill, one sack of chaff, and about one sack and threequarters of oats. Hot identifiable.

Stolen, from the cab of John McVicker, about 11 p.m, on the 16th September, 1874, a Yankee whip, mounted with five silver ferrules, and a piece of plaited horse hide attached to the end of the whip. Identifiable.

A Man, described as follows, and who can be identified, is charged with assaulting with intent to rape, Mrs Sarah Ellen Pepper, at Rangiora, at 5 p.m. on the 28th September, 1874 ; supposed to be a new arrival and a Scotchman, 25 years, about sft. 6 or 7in., stout build, fresh complexion, some upper front teeth gone, dressed in long dark overcoat, light cord trousers, Scotch cap without peak, red woollen muffler.
