FRIENDLY SOCIETIES AND TRADE-UNIONS SEVENTY-FIRST ANNUAL REPORT BY THE REGISTRAR OF FRIENDLY SOCIETIES, FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st DECEMBER, 1947

The Registrar of Friendly Societies to the Right Hon. the Minister. Sir, — Wellington, Ist August, 1948. I have the honour to submit the annual report of this Office for the year ended 31st December, 1947, in accordance with the provisions of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, section 9, and the Trade-unions Act, 1908, section 16. REPORT
Mr. G. E. Bradley, who held the office of Kegistrar since 1944, retired from the Service at the end of the year. The friendly societies have expressed their appreciation of the generous help and guidance given by Mr. Bradley throughout his forty-one years of service. PART I.—FRIENDLY SOCIETIES Registrations One society was registered during the year —W.M.C. : Onehunga Working-men's Club. The following registrations were cancelled by request —1.0.0. F. : Centenary Lodge, Tokomaru Bay Lodge, and Iti Rebekah Lodge. A.O.E. : Court Pongaroa (Wellington District). H.A.C.B.S. : St. Joseph's Branch No. 858, Wellington (N.Z. District). G.U.0.0.F. : Star of Newtown Branch, Loyal Onslow Branch, Arahina Branch, and Loyal Coronation Branch. One amalgamation was registered—M.U.l.O.O.F. : Victoria Lodge with Milton Lodge (Otago District). One instrument of dissolution was registered —A.0.F.: Court Clarendon (Courtout of District). There were 1,047 registrations at 31st December, 1947.
