REPORT OF THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st DECEMBER, 1946 (In continuation of E.-l, 1946)

Your Excellency,— I have the honour, in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, to submit to Your Excellency the following report upon the progress and condition of public education in New Zealand during the year ended the 31st December, 1946. REPORT As I predicted in my last report, the year 1946, whilst one of considerable activity, was not marked by any radical changes in educational policy. Energies were directed rather to providing the ways and means of putting into fuller operation the policy laid down in recent years. The achievements for the year, however, are by no means inconsiderable.
