To ascertain the position regarding sewerage and water-supply systems in cities and boroughs of over 3,000 inhabitants a survey was made during the year; the summarized information will prove valuable to departmental and municipal Engineers. A complete sewage-treatment plant for Cherry Farm Hospital is being ■designed. The allocation and issue of reinforcing and structural steel to publicworks jobs is under the control of the Chief Designing Engineer, and this work presents many difficult problems because of shortage of supplies and -depleted stocks.
