ORDERS OF REFERENCE Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Thursday, the 4th Day of March, 1943 Ordered, " That n Select Committee be appointed, consisting, by leave, of eleven members, to consider all Bills containing provisions of a technical legal character which may be referred to it, with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee appointed by the Legislative Council: the Committee to consist of the Hon. Mr. Speaker, Mr. Bodkin, Mr. Broadfoot, Mr. Combs, Mr. Denham, Mr. Endean, Mr. Harker, Mr. Munro, Mr. Richards, Mr. Schramm, and the Mover." —(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Wednesday, the 10th Day of March, 1943 Ordered, " That the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Amendment Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Thursday, the 20tii Day of May, 1943 Ordered, " That Select Committees have leave to sit for the remainder of the session on days on which the House does not meet." —(Right Hon. Mr. Fraser.) Thursday, the 12th Day of August, 1943 Ordered, " That the Statutes Revision Committee have leave to sit during the present sitting of the House. 1 ' —(Mr. Schramm.) Monday, the 23rd Day of August, 1943 Ordered, " That the Statutes Amendment Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." — (Hon. Mr. Mason.) Ordered, " That the Statutes Revision Committee have leave to sit during the present sitting of the House." —(Hon. Mr. Mason.)

REPORTS Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 11th March, 1943. No. 50.—Petition of H. M. Rushworth, of Castor Bay, Auckland Praying for an inquiry into certain aspects of the evidence given on the trial of Eric Mareo. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee, having heard counsel for the petitioner and for the Crown and carefully considered this petition, has no recommendation to make. 25th August, 1948. •T.
