Ordered, " That the petition of Walter Ropiha Brown be referred direct to the Native Affairs Committee."— (Hon. Mr. Nash.) Wednesday, the 26th Day of March, 1941. Ordered " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting, by leave, of sixteen members, to consider all petitions, reports returns and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting tiic Native race which may be referred to it and 'from time to time to report thereon to this House ; the Committee to consist of Mr. Broadfoot, the Right Hon. Mr Coates Mr. Cullen, Mr. Frost, Mr. Kidd, Mr. Lowry, Mr. Massey, Mr. Moncur, the Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata, Mr." O'Brien, the Hon. Mr. Paikea, Mr. Ratana, Mr. Thorn, Mr. Tinkatene, Mr. Williams, and the Mover. Memorandum for the Chairman, Native Affairs Committee : "Pursuant to section 16 of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, Paper No. 159 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 158 of 1935, of Hone Rameka and others, relative to the Takapau Block (Mokau-Manginangma) ) stands refer '' e pur°suant to at ilct[on a 23 Purposes Act, 1938, Paper No. 160 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No 33 of 1938, of Ata Paniora and another, praying for relief in respect of injustice allegedly suffered by them in relation to Waipoua 2b 3b 1 Block, Waipoua 2b 3d 2 Block, and Waipoua 2b 3a Block) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee."
