ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from, the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 14th Day or July, 1938. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to whom all local Bills shall stand referred after the first reading; the Committee to report whether the rights and prerogatives of the Crown are in any way affected by the provisions of the Bills, and to recommend such amendments as it may think proper, and to report, when necessary, on the merits of the Bills; the Committee to have power to confer with any Committee appointed for a similar object by the Legislative Council: the Committee to consist of Mr. Anderton, the Rev. Mr. Carr, Mr. Coulter, Mr. Herring, Mr. Kyle, Mr. Munro, Captain Rushworth, Mr. Smith, Mr. Wright, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Parky.) Wednesday, the 10th Day oe August, 1938. Ordered, " That in reference to the Wellington City Housing Bill, Standing Order 300 be suspended so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which local Bills may be introduced, and that the Bill be allowed to be introduced and to proceed."—(Mr. Wright.) Ordered, " That in reference to the Coromandel Comity Reclamation and Empowering Bill, Standing Order 366 be suspended so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which local Bills may be introduced, and that the Bill be allowed to be introduced and to proceed."—(Mr. Richards.) Ordered, " That in reference to the Otago Harbour Board Empowering Bill, Standing Order 366 be suspended so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which local Bills may be introduced, and that the Bill be allowed to be introduced and to proceed."—(Mr. Munro.) Ordered, " That in reference to the Timaru Borough Empowering Bill, Standing Order 366 be suspended so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which local Bills may be introduced, and that the Bill be allowed to be introduced and to proceed."—(Rev. Mr. Carr.) Thursday, the 11th Day oe August, 1938. Ordered, " That in reference to the Geraldine County River District Amendment Bill, Standing Order 366 be suspended so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which local Bills may be introduced, and that the Bill be allowed to be introduced and to proceed."—(Mr. T. D. Burnett.) Thursday, the 18th Day oe August, 1938. Ordered, " That in reference to the Auckland Electric-power Board Amendment Bill, Standing Order 366 be suspended so far as it relates to the number of days from the commencement of the session within which local Bills may be introduced, and that the Bill be allowed to be introduced and to proceed."—(Hon. Mr. Mason.) Tuesday, the 23rd Day of August, 1938.
