Lower Clutha River Improvement Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Lower Clutha River Improvement Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, the Bill be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill hereto annexed. 12th September, 1938.

Southland Land Drainage Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Southland Land Drainage Amendment Bill, and, concurring in the deletion of clause 8 from the Bill by the Local Bills Committee, the Committee recommends that, so far as it now affects the rights and prerogatives of the Crown, the Bill be allowed to proceed without amendment. 12th September, 1938. Reserves and other Lands Disposal Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee, to which was referred the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Bill and the subsequent amendments thereto proposed by His Excellency the GovernorGeneral, has carefully considered the provisions of the Bill and the amendments, and recommends that the Bill with the aforesaid amendments be allowed to proceed without further amendment. 14th September, 1938.

Local Legislation Bill. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Local Legislation Bill, and recommends that, so far as it affects public reserves, the Bill bo allowed to proceed without amendment. 14th September, 1938.

Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee, consisting of ten members, has held six meetings during the session, with an average attendance of six members. Seven Bills and five petitions were referred to the Committee, and all were considered and reported to the House, except one petition presented late in the session. E. P.
