ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 29th Day of September, 1937. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to whom all Local Bills shall stand referred after the first reading ; the Committee to report whether the rights and prerogatives of the Crown are in any way affected by the provisions of the Bills, and to recommend such amendments as it, may think proper, and to report, when necessary, on the merits of the Bills ; the Committee to have power to confer with any Committee appointed for a similar object by the Legislative Council: the Committee to consist of Mr. Anderson, Mr. Coulter, Mr. Herring, Mr. Kyle, Mr. Munro, Mr. Osborne, Captain Rushworth, Mr. Smith, Mr. Wright, and the Mover." —(Hon. Mr. Parry.) Thursday, the 21st Day oe October, 1937. Ordered, " That the name of Mr. Osborne be discharged from the Local Bills Committee, and that of the Rev. Mr. Carr be substituted therefor." —(Hon. Mr. Parry.) Thursday, the 18th Day of November, 1937. Ordered, " That the Local Bills Committee have leave to sit during the present sitting of the House." —(Mr. Mttnro.) Wednesday, the Ist Day op December, 1937. Ordered, " That the Standing Orders on Private Bills be suspended so as to allow the Private Bill intituled the Cawthron Institute Trust Board Rating Exemption Act, (No. 2), 1937, to be introduced on motion forthwith, and to be proceeded with and passed through all its stages in accordance with the procedure prescribed for Public Bills instead of that prescribed for Private Bills." —(Mr. Atmore.) Wednesday, the Ist Day op December, 1937. Ordered, " That the Cawthron Institute Trust Board Rating Exemption Bill (No. 2) be referred to the Local Bills Committee."—(Mr. Atmore.) Thursday, the 2nd Day oe December, 1937. Ordered, " That the Local Bills Committee have leave to sit during the present sitting of the House." —(Mr. Munro.;
