No. 38.—Petition of A. H. Rae, of Auckland. Praying for additional compensation for injuries sustained whilst employed on relief works. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for consideration, with a recommendation that the subjectmatter be referred to a medical referee to be agreed upon by the petitioner and the State Insurance Department, and, failing such agreement, that it be referred to the Arbitration Court. 27th October, 1936.
No. 277.—Petition of J. Falconer, of Oamaru. Praying for further compensation on account of an injury sustained while employed by the Public Works Department. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for consideration, with a recommendation that suitable employment be found for the petitioner in the Public Works Department. 27th October, 1936.

I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Labour Bills Committee passed the following resolution: " That this Committee place on record its appreciation of the capable manner in which Mr. C.
