I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Goverment for consideration. The Committee desires to express its opinion that the Right Hon. the Native Minister should confer with the Arawa Tribe on the subjectmatter of the petition. 10th September, 1936.

No. 30, 1935.—Petition of Pene Ngamanu, of Tauranga. Praying for a rehearing of his application for possession of land known as Motiti B 4 and a house thereon. I am directed to report that the member presenting this petition having expressed a wish to withdraw the same, the Committee recommends that the petition be allowed to be withdrawn. 10th September, 1936.
