MARINE DEPARTMENT. ANNUAL REPORT FOR 1931-32.

Your Excellency,— Marine Department, Wellington, 6th September, 1932. I do myself the honour to transmit for Your Excellency's information the report of the Marine Department of the Dominion for the financial year ended the 31st March last. I have, &c, John G. REPORT.

The Secretary, Marine Department, to the Hon. the Minister of Marine. Sir, — Marine Department, Wellington, sth September, 1932. I have the honour to submit the annual report on the operations of the Marine Department for the financial year ended 31st March, 1932.

Financial. The following statement summarizes the revenue and the expenditure of the Department (excluding Westport Harbour) for the past four years in comparison with the figures for 1922-23 : —

An analysis of these figures shows that the operations of the Department result in "a surplus after providing full depreciation, but before charging interest on capital.
