REPORTS. Painters and Decorators Registration Bill. I have the honour to report that in view of the restrictive provisions of the Bill, without commensurate benefit to the general public, the Committee recommends that the Bill be not allowed to proceed. 17th September, 1931.

No. 76. —Petition of Fletcher and Maddocks and 111 Others. Praying for legislation for closing petrol-filling stations at Auckland on Sundays and certain other times. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 17th September, 1931.

Painters and Decorators Health Protection Bill. I have the honour to report that, in view of the safeguards provided by the present regulations under the Health Act, 1920, the Committee recommends that the Bill be not allowed to proceed. 17th September, 1931.

Painters and Decorators Health Protection Bill (Second Report). I have the honour to report that in view of the safeguards provided by the present regulations under the Health Act, 1920, the Committee recommends that the Bill be not allowed to proceed this session. 21st October, 1931.

No. 107. —Petition of Allan Clarke. Praying for employment under No. 5 Scheme of the Unemployment Board. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 21st October, 1931.

Einal Report. I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee, consisting of ten members, has during the session held eight meetings. Two Bills and two petitions were referred to the Committee, all of which were carefully considered, and have been reported upon to the House. 7th November, 1931. A. E. Jull, Chairman.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that the members of the Labour Bills Committee desire to place on record their keen appreciation of the ability, tact, and unfailing courtesy manifested by its Chairman, Mr. A. E. Jull, in the conduct of the business of the Committee. It is further desired that this resolution be reported to the House. H. T. Armstrong, Member of the Committee. 10th November, 1931.

Special Report. The members of the Labour Bills Committee desire to record their appreciation of the assiduous and capable manner in which the Clerk, Mr. Llewellyn Meredith, has carried out the duties of his office during the session.
