Medical treatment of war pensioners during 1929-30 cost £84,650. Railway concessions to war pensioners with locomotive disabilities in excess of 50 per cent, cost £1,837 during the year. The loading paid on life-insurance policies of war pensioners due to war-service disability amounted to £205 for the year. Temporary war pensions to soldiers decreased by 32, while permanent pensions to soldiers were increased by 147 during the year. The 405 deaths among war pensioners are made up as follows : Soldiers, 159 ; widows of soldiers, 5 ; other dependants, 24-1.
