I have already referred to the unfailing assistance rendered to me in all directions. This happy condition was, I felt, due largely to the fact that New Zealand, held a high place in the estimation of older countries. It was clear that this esteem was largely due to the high standard of commercial and political morality which, has characterized its undertakings, and to the lasting and dignified impression created by its representatives at the Great War. On all hands a genuine interest was manifested in. the prospects and potentialities of this Dominion, and, in addition to the more specific duties of a telegraph and telephone Engineer, it afforded me much pleasure to be able to furnish information in many quarters as to the general conditions and attractions of my native country. A. Gibbs, Chief Telegraph Engineer. Wellington, 10th February, 1928.
