No. 113/1927. —Petition of Rangi Tutu and Another. Praying that claims to succeed to Papa Mauroa Pera (deceased) in Tutira, Awa-o-totara, and Arapawanui Blocks be inquired into, and relief be granted in accordance with Maori custom. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 14th September, 1927. No. 53/1927, Petition of Te Hina te Tua and 8 Others ; and No. 62/1927, Petition of Te Huna Paewai and 15 Others. Petitioners claim to be the lawful descendants of Tapui (deceased) in Kaungaroa No. 3 Block ; they pray for readjustment of the title, and exclusion of certain persons now residing on the block. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion these petitions should be referred to the Government for inquiry. 14th September, 1927.
