I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 21st July, 1926.

No. 51. —Petition of John Foster Smith, of. Hastings. Praying for a compassionate allowance on account of injuries received in a railway accident at Piripiri. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, with a recommendation that petitioner be granted a compassionate allowance equal to the amount of the old-age pension for a period of two years. 21st July, 1926.
