ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 16th Day op July, 1925. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to examine and report upon questions relating to railways ; with power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. J. S. Dickson, Mr. Glenn, Mr. Mc 11 vride, Mr. Munro, Mr. Nash, Mr. J. C. Rolleston, Mr. Smith, Mr. Sykes, Mr. Witty, and the mover." —(Hon. Mr. Coates.) Thursday, the 23rd Day or July, 1925. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1924 be again referred to the same Committee as they were referred to during the said session." —(Hon. Mr. Coates.) Tuesday, the Ist Day of September, 1925. Ordered, " That the petition of Lucy Elizabeth Morton be referred direct to" the Railways Committee."— (Mr. Young.) Wednesday, the 9th Day of September, 1925. Ordered, " That the Government Railways Amendment Bill be referred to the Railways Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Coates.) Thursday, the 10th Day of September, 1925. Ordered, " That the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill be referred to the Railways Committee, and that it be an instruction to the Railways Committee that it consider clause 142 only, with power to make any amendments therein, and to insert any additional clauses relevant thereto."—(Hon. Mr. Anderson.) Wednesday, the 16th Day of September, 1925. Ordered, " That the petition of the Papanui Progress League and others be referred direct to the Railways Committee." —(Mr. Witty.)
