REPORTS. No. 124. —Petition of Joseph Ingley, of New Plymouth. Petitioner prays that he may bo granted the New Zealand War Medal, together with all its privileges, or a compassionate allowance in lieu thereof. I am directed to report that the Committee repeats its recommendation of last year —viz., that the petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 28th August, 1924.

No. 97. —Petition of Julia King, of Petone. Petitioner prays that an adequate pension may be granted to her in recognition of her husband's military services. ' ' I am directed to report that the Committee! repeats the recommendation of last session—viz., that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 28th August, 1924.

No. 50. —Petition of William Strong (Mayor) and 147 Others, of Naseby. That a pension may be obtained for James Crawford, of Naseby, in recognition of his military services during the Crimean War. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for the purpose of having the claims of James Crawford brought before the Imperial authorities. 28th August, 1924.

No. 68. —Petition of Harriet Simeon, of Epsom, Auckland. Petitioner prays that she may be granted the difference between the New Zealand and Imperial rates of pay and. gratuity for services on the Nursing Staff during the war. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 28th August, 1924.

No. 119.—Petition of James Eattenbury, of Waitara. Petitioner prays that his pension for services during the Maori wars may be made retrospective to the inception of the Act of 1913, or that a compassionate allowance may be granted for the loss of his rights. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 28th August, 1924.

No. 128.—Petition of Christian Kienle, of Auckland. Petitioner prays for compensation for losses incurred through, his internment during tin; war. 1 am directed to report that, as this petition refers to a matter of policy, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 28th August, 1924,

No. 59.—Petition of Leo Sim, of Mangaweka. PETITIONER prays for payment of an amount alleged to have been short-paid to him for his military services. I am directed to report that the Committee, having been advised that all necessary steps have been taken to bring the petitioner's case before the Imperial authorities, therefore has no recommendation to make. 28th August, 1924.

No. 116.—Petition of Anne Kathleen Hunter, of Wellington. For an adequate compassionate allowance in recognition of her late, husband's military services. I am directed to report that, as this petition deals with a question of policy, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 28th August, 1924.
