SECTION 3.—NON-NOTIFIABLE DISEASES. Cancer. The following table, taken from, the " New Zealand Official Year-book," shows the cancer death-rate in the Dominion for the last ten years : —■

Number of Persons who died from Cancer, the Proportion per 10,000 Persons living, and the Percentage of all Deaths, 1914-23.

Fuller information upon this subject, together with a discussion upon the causes which have contributed to the rising cancer death-rate in the Dominion, will be found in an article by the Chief Compiler, Census and Statistics Office, in the Year-book for 1917. Venereal Diseases. The venereal clinics established in the four main centres in 1919 continue to do good work. The following table shows in concise form the results of their operations during the past year : —
