Praying that the Native Land Court be authorized to inquire into the alleged wrongful succession orders made in 1898 in regard to Section 405, Block 12, Survey District of Wairoa. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 25th November, 1921. Special Report. I have the honour to report that at a meeting of the Native Affairs Committee held on Thursday, the Ist day of December, the following resolution was carried : — " That this Committee records its high sense of the faithful services rendered to the Maori race, and to New Zealand, by the late Mr. John Hopere Wharewiti Uru, as a member of the Native Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, and desires to express its sincerest sympathy with Mrs. Uru and her family in their great sorrow. Further, that this resolution be recorded in the minutes and reported to the House, and a copy of the same forwarded to the widow of the late honourable gentleman." 2nd December, 1921. Native Trustee Amendment Bill. The Native Affairs Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the same clause by clause, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. 7th December, 1921.
