ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives, Friday, the 7th Day or October, 1921. Ordered, " That Standing Order No. 219 be suspended, and that a Native Affairs Committee be appointed, consisting of fifteen members, to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race that may be brought before the House this session, and from time to time to report thereon to the House ; with power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Campbell, Mr. Field, Mr. Hawken, Mr. Henare, the Hon. Sir W. H. Hemes, Mr. Hockly, Mr. Jennings, the Hon. Mr. Ngata, the Hon. Dr. Pomare, Mr. Reed, Mr. R. W. Smith, Mr. Uru, Mr. Williams, Mr. Young, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Coates.) Wednesday, the 12th Day of October, 1921. Ordered, " That the Cook Islands Amendment Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." —(Hon. Dr. Pomare. ) Ordered, " That the Native Land Amendment Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Mr. Reed.) Thursday, the 13th Day op October, 1921. Ordered, " That the Samoa Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee for consideration of Part IX and the definition clauses relating thereto." —(Hon. Mr. Lee.) Friday, the 28th Day of October, 1921. Ordered, " That the Forests Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee for consideration of Part VI." — (Mr. E. Newman.) Thursday, the 24th Day of November, 1921. Ordered, " That the Native Trustee Amendment Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Coates.) Monday, the 30th Day of January, 1922. Ordered, " That the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Coates.) Ordered, That the Urewera Lands Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Coates.)
