REPORTS. No. 79, —Petition of A. S. Thomson and 26 Others, of Napier. Praying that legislation may be in trod need so that South African veterans resident in New Zealand will be entitled to participate in the benefits of the Discharged Soldiers' Land Settlement Act, 1915. I am directed to report, that, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 26th September, 1919.

Land Settlement Finance Amendment Bill. The Lands Committee, to which was referred lite above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to recommend that it be allowed to proceed without amendment, 26th September, 1919.

No. 176.—Petition of James Campion, of Pordell. Praying for compensation for loss sustained by reason of inaccurate survey of land held under the Land Transfer Act. I am directed to report that the petitioner has suffered serious loss through a miscalculation by (lie Lands Department, of the acreage included in his certificate of title, and the Committee recommends that the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 6th October, 1919.

No. 69.—Petition of Gborge V. Bransgrove and Others, of Otanomomo Settlement. Praying for compensation for losses incurred through the constant flooding of the land occupied by them at the Otanomomo Settlement. 1 am directed to report, that, pending the report and recommendations of the Commission set up to deal with flooding caused by the overflow from the Clutha River, this Committee has no recommendation to make. 6th October, 1919.

No. 227. —Petition of Margaret Aitkenhbad and Others, of Otanomomo Settlement. Praying for compensation for serious losses incurred through the recurring floods at the Otanomomo Settlement. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 6th October, 1919.

No. 268. —Petition of Cecil A. de Lautour, of Gisborne. Praying that he be compensated for improvements effected in certain Native leases in the Whakaangiangi Blocks 5a and sb. T am directed to report that this Committee recommends the Government to give favourable consideration to the claim of the petitioner for compensation for improvements effected by him after the interviews between petitioner's son and the then Government in 1903. 20th October, 1919.

Waimakahiri Harbour Board Reserve Bill. Tin-] Lands Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed as amended by the Local Bills Committee. 20th October, 1919.

Tolaga Bay Harbour Bill. Tun Lands Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the hono«r to report that it, has carefully considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed Io proceed as amended by the Local Bills Committee. 20th October, 1919.

Westport Technical School Site Bill. The Lands Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed as amended by the Local Bills Committee. 20th October, 1919.
