The late Mr. James Colvin, M.P.: Vote or Condolence. I am directed to report that this Committee, of which the lato Mr. James Colvin, M.P., was for many years a valued member, desires to tender to his family its sincere sympathy with them in their sad bereavement; and. further desires that this resolution shall be recorded in the minutes of the Committee and reported to the House, and that the Clerk be directed to prepare a copy to be forwarded to the late Mr. ColvinVs family. 30th October, 1919.

Special Report. 1 have the honour to report that the Goldfields and Mines Committee desires to place on record its high appreciation of the tact, skill, and attention shown by the Chairman (Mr. Scott) in directing the business of the Committee during the present session ; and further desires that this resolution shall be recorded in the minutes of the Committee and reported to the House. 11. Poland. 3rd November, 1919. No. 28 of Session 11, 1918.--Petition of Albert Bruce and 376 Others, of Thames (and 1 similar Petition, as per Schedule attached). Praying that mining and other companies and individuals may be compelled to stack their tailings and debris on their own land. 1 am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petitions should be referred io the Government for consideration. -Ith November, 1919. Pinal Report. 1 HAVE the honour to report that the Goldfields and Mines Committee, consisting of thirteen members, has during this session held eight meetings, the average attendance at each meeting being eight. During the session three Bills -namely, the Mining Amendment Bill, Coal-mines Amendment Pill, and Stone-quarries Amendment Bill were considered, by the Committee, evidence taken, and reports made to the House. Three petitions also were'reported on in two reports. 4th November, 1919.
