With reference to my despatch, Honours, of the 30th January, 1914, I have the honour to transmit to Your Excellency, for the information of your Ministers, the accompanying copies of a document notifying that the Right Honourable W. F. Massey has been sworn of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council. I have, &c, A. BONAR LAW. Governor His Excellency the Right Hon. the Earl of Liverpool, G.C.M.G, M.V.O, &c.

Enclosure. At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 24th day of October, 1916. Present : The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council. This day the Right Honourable William Ferguson Massey, Prime Minister of the Dominion of New Zealand, having been appointed a member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council on the 21st day of January, 1914, was, by His Majesty's command, sworn, and took his place at the Board accordingly.
