The number of candidates who entered for the different stages of the Teachers' Certificate Examinations was 2,265. In addition to the examinations above referred to, the Department also conducted during the year the customary examinations in science subjects for the Board of Education, England, and in technological subjects for the City and Guilds of London Institute.
