REPORTS. No. 10.—Petition of Gustave Victor Hugo, of San Francisco. Prating for compensation for dela3's and financial losses in relation to his permit to leave the Dominion. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition. 28th June, 1916.

No. 31.—Petition of William Smith Dryden, of Waiouru. Prating for compensation for injuries alleged to have been received whilst employed as a ganger on the Main Trunk line. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 28th June, 1916.

No. 89.—Petition of William A. Johnston, of Auckland. Prating for expenses and loss incurred by him through defending charges in the Magistrates' and Supreme Courts. No. I.—Petition of A. Henderson and 48 Others, of Oxford. Praying for clemency and reduction of sentence .passed upon James P. Rodgers, convicted of sheepstealing. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition. 12th July, 1916.

No. 137.—Petition of Richard Body, of Winslow. Praying for compensation, for the death of his son, an ex-gunner of the Royal New Zealand Artillery. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion this petition should be referred to (lie Government for consideration. 12th July, 1916.

No. 2.—Petition of Gertrude Burbery, of Wellington. Praying for compassionate allowance for services rendered by her late husband whilst a member of the Defence Force. 1 am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition. 12th July, 19.16.

No. 56.—Petition of Archibald R. Clarke, of Christchurch. Praying for compensation for the loss of his left leg whilst engaged as marker in a miniature-rifle match. 1 am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, and that a suitable position be found him in the Public Service. 12th July, 1916.

No. 9.—Petition of W. H. Clarke and 22 Others, of Auckland. Praying that they be granted the full military and old-age pensions. I am directed to report that in. the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favour-able consideration. 12th July, 1916.

No. 369 (1915). —Petition of .Roger Delamere Danhky, of Rotorua. Praying that legislation be enacted to enable the Government to fix the tariff for the carriage of goods on the tramway from Mokai to Putaruru. I am directed, to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition 12th July, 1916.
