(Colonel in the New Zealand Staff Corps), has been promoted from command of the (ith Infantry Brigade to be Major-General to Command the 20th (Light) Division, 2nd New Army. This officer has been promoted to the rank of Major-General in the New Zealand Staff Corps. Major G. S. Richardson, p.s.c, New Zealand Staff Corps, appointed last year a General Staff Officer to represent the Dominion at the Headquarters of the Imperial General Staff, War Office, London, has been appointed Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General to the Royal Naval Division. Lieut.-Colonel) E\ E, Johnston, The Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire Regiment), now serving with the Main Body, New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Colonel J. C. Nichols, v.d., A.D.G., Commander Otago Mounted Brigade, lias been appointed, temporarily to command the Otago Military District, vice Lieut.-Colonel (temp. Colonel) A. Bauchop, C.M.G., New Zealand Staff Corps, now serving with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Lieut.-Colonel J. A. Hume, Royal New Zealand Artillery, has been appointed temporarily to command the Auckland Military District, vice Colonel C. T. Major, D.5.0., who resigned the temporary appointment. The officer holding the appointment prior to Colonel Major was Lieut.-Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. Logan, A.D.C., New Zealand Staff Corps, now Administrator of Samoa. Colonel the Honourable R. H. R. Macdonald, p.s.c, Imperial General Staff, appointed Instructor of Infantry at Trentham. Captain (temp. Major) W. 0. Finnis, New Zealand Staff Corps, has been appointed General Staff Officer (temporarily) to the Canterbury Military District, vice Captain (temp. Major) W. R. Pinivill, p.s.c, Imperial General Staff, now serving with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Captain (temp. Major) D. A.
