Waiotapu Plantation. (Approximate area, 6,700 acres; approximate altitude, 1,200 ft.) Trees planted during the past year amounted in all to 3,452,725. Of this number, 2,932,700 were planted on a new area of 1,077 acres, and the balance of 520,025 were used to replace failures in former plantings. This plantation now contains 12,028,059 trees, covering an area of 4,600 acres.
