No. 269 (1909). —Petition of Haimona te Harawira and Another. Petitioners pray for fresh inquiry into the matter of succession to Te Harawira Tarakou (deceased). I am directed to report that, as the petitioner has not exhausted his legal remedy, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 18th November, 1909. Petitioners pray that the troubles in connection with Te Whaiti Block, Urewera District, be handed over to the Native Land Court for adjustment. I am directed to report that, in the opinion of the Committee, this petition should lie referred to the Government for consideration. 18th November, 1909.
