Duntroon Domain. Section No. 23, Block IV, Maruwenua Survey District. Area, 80 acres. Work done during year : Trees planted, an area ploughed and levelled, grass sown, gorse cleared, and rabbits kept down. Improvements now on domain : Rabbit-proof fencing, trees, and glassing. Used for picnics and as a rifle-range. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Keeping down rabbits and eradicating gorse and other noxious weeds. Green Island Domain. Section No. 1, Block XIV, East Taieri Survey District. Area, 372 acres 2 roods 4 perches. Work done during year : Marram-grass and lupins planted, and lupin-seed sown. The domain consists chiefly of sandhills, with the exception of about 8 acres, which is leased. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Planting trees, marram-grass, and lupins. Greenwich Square Domain. Section No. 18, Block VI, Town of Waihola. Area, 1 acre 1 rood 11 perches. Work done during year : Portions of the domain cultivated, and walks, fences, and gates kept in repair. Improvements now on domain: Fences, four gates, macrocarpa hedge, two gravel walks, and cottage garden. Used for general recreation. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Laying down an area in grass, planting ornamental shrubs, eradicating noxious weeds by rootcrops, and general maintenance. * Havelock (Waitahuna) Domain. Section No. 21, Block XXXII, Town of Havelock. Area, 5 acres 1 rood 32 perches. During the year the boundary-fence, with the exception of about 5 chains, was removed and replaced by a new one. Improvements now on domain: Fences and belt of macrocarpa trees. Used for sports, football, cricket, tennis, and general recreation. Hawea Domain. Section No. 19, Block IV, Lower Hawea Survey District. Area, 107 acres 1 rood 8 perches. Work done during year : Racing-track ploughed for sowing in grass; another area was also ploughed for the same purpose. Improvements now on domain: Fences, iron gates, plantation, booth, horse-yard, and grassing. Used for sports, picnics, and races. Hawksbury Domain. Situated in Town of Hawksbury. Area, 459 acres 1 rood •">(> perches. One hundred and fifty-eight acres leased. Work done during year: Low-lying flat filled in, bowling-green formed, space provided for tennis-courts, new fences erected on the recently surveyed boundaries, and trees planted in place of those that failed. Improvements now on domain : Fences, canal and connecting drains, reclaimed area, plantations, embankments, bridges, pavilion, and bowding-green. , Used for sports, races, picnics, bowls, cricket, football, hockey; also for cattlegrazing. It is proposed to carry out further improvements during the ensuing year. Heriot Domain. Section No. 2, Block I, Town of Heriot. Area, 9 acres 3 roods 9 perches Improvements now on domain : Fences, trees, drains, and shelter-shed. Used for cricket, football, and sports. Hyde Domain. Sections Nos. 51, 52, 54, 55, 57, and 58, Block VII, Rock and Pillar Survey District. Area, 79 acres 2 roods 29 perches. Used as a racecourse and rifle-range. Improvements now on domain: Fences and racecourse. Kaitangata Domain. Sections Nos. 1 to 15, Block XXVI, and 5, Block XLVI, Town of Kaitangata. Area, 68 acres 1 rood 38 perches. Work done during year : Tennis-court formed. Improvements now on domain : Fences, hedges, gates, drains, plantations, lawns, walks, tennis-court, grandstand, and pavilion. Used for sports, picnics, football, cricket, and'general recreation. Karitane Domain. Sections Nos. 7. S, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, Block IX, and 2, Block XXIV, Town of Waikouaiti, and 24, Block VI, Hawksbury Survey District. Area, 37 acres 1 rood 4 perches. Work done during year : Rocks removed from the river channel and built on wall, road leading to the domain repaired (the Waikouaiti County Council bearing half the cost), the reclaimed land on the isthmus securely fenced, and the enclosures planted with trees and shrubs. Improvements now on domain : Plantations securely fenced, extensive sand-breaks, protective works, and marram-grass plantations. Used for picnics and general recreation. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Improving river channel, planting marram grass, reclaiming mud flat, and planting with trees and shrubs, and erecting flood-gates.
