The building is really not up to the mark, but whether a large hospital is required here is another matter. However, the Trustees have a grant towards the erection of a new hospital. The idea is to add the wards bit by bit as necessary. Visited 18th July, 1906. —The total number of inmates is 34: Males, 26, of whom 19 are hospital cases, and the rest simply old people; the women are 8 in number, of whom 5 are chronics. The Hospital is working well. The position of the new ward which is to be an instalment of a well-designed brick hospital has been pegged out. INVERCARGILL HOSPITAL.
