K.AITAWA Domain. Suburban Section No. 13, Town of Kaitawa. Area, 15 acres and 36 perches: Leased on improvement conditions. Work done during year: Completion of drains. Improvements now on domain : Fifty-nine chains fences, 6 chains draius of which 200 ft. is piped, sports-ground, 2J acres laid down in grass, and \ acre plantation. Used for picnics and sportss Proposed operations for ensuing year : Construction of pipe drains, erection of fences round plantation, erection of notice-boards, and tree-planting. Khandallah Domain. Allotments 2 and 3of Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block XI, Belmont Survey District. Area, 31 acres 1 rood. Improvements now on domain: Sixty chains of post-and-wire fences, iron gate, and 60 chains footpaths. Used for picnics and sight-seeing only. Early in 1904 15 or 20 acres of bush on the domain was swept by fire, and it is the intention of the Board to sell the broken and dead trees for removal as firewood, so that the burnt area may be replanted. Kimbolton Domain. Section No. 92c, Block XIII, Apiti Survey District, and Suburban Section No. 16, Township of Birmingham. Area, 37 acres and 3 perches. Work done during j-ear: Reservoir for swimming completed, and drains made. Improvements now on domain : Fences, plantation, reservoir, drains, portion felled and grassed. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Erecting fence and planting hedge round reservoir. Langdale Domain. Section 16, Town of Langdale (Suburbs). Area, 10 acres 1 rood 8 perches. This domain is under the control of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington. No improvements have been effected. A Domain Board is to be appointed shortly to control the area. Levin Domain. Section No. 21, Block I, Waiopehu Survey District, and Suburban Section No. 24, Town of Levin. Area, 52 acres 1 rood 3 perches. Work done during year : Cycle-track constructed and gaps in plantation replanted. Improvements now on domain: Fences, plantations of ornamental and shelter trees, racecourse, sportsground, two tennis-courts, shelter-shed, and cycle-track. Used for football, cricket, hockey, tennis, picnics, cycling, sports, and races. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Erection of dressing-room and conveniences. Makaiko Domain. Section No. 47, Makairo Village Settlement. Area, 5 acres. This domain is under the control of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington. It adjoins the Makairo Village Settlement and public school, and comprises grassed land, leased for grazing. The improvements consist of dwellinghouse, outbuildings, garden and orchard, fences, and drains. The lessee has the right to remove the improvements on the termination of his lease. Makakahi Island Domain. Situated in Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District. Area, 14 acres 3 roods. Used for recreation. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Tree-planting and erection of fences and river protective works. Makuei Domain. Section No. 162, and Suburban Sections Nos. 159 and 167, Town of Makuri. Area, 36 acres and 18 perches. Work done during year: Willow-planting for scenery and river-protection. Improvements now on domain : Fifty chains fences, pavilion, plantation, tennis-court, and sports-ground. Used for picnics, football, and cricket. Proposed operations for ensuing year : Tree-planting, painting buildings and gates, and erection of turnstile. Mangatainoka Domain. Sections Nos. 79, Block XVIII, and 30, 31, and 32, Block XVII, Mangahao Survey District. Area, 24 acres 2 roods 5 perches. Nineteen acres leased. Work done during year: Running-track top-dressed and grassed, football-ground improved, erection of shed and water-tank, and general maintenance. Improvements now on domain: Fences, plantations, 440-yards running-track, shelter-shed, store-room, football and cricket grounds. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Improvements to footballground and running-track, and protection of river frontage. Used for picnics, football, cricket, and general recreation.
