During the year a bore was sunk from which a plentiful supply of hot water is obtained. Improvements now on domain : Sixty-six chains fences, hot baths, and caretaker's house. Used as a bathing resort. During the ensuing year it is proposed to expend a sum of £200 in developing the hot springs on the domain. Ho wick Domain. Suburban Sections Nos. 141 to 148, Town of Howick. Area, 8 acres. Work done during year: Hedges trimmed, noxious weeds eradicated, and boundary-road ploughed. Improvements now on domain: Thirty-six chains fences, 60 chains drains, canal, about a hundred trees, shelter-shed, tennis-court, drains, 2 acres ploughed, levelled, and grassed. I'sed for grazing, cricket, sports, tennis, and picnics. It is proposed to cover the canal, and insert drainpipes during the ensuing j'ear. Kaiwaka Domain. Section No. 125, Kaiwaka Parish. Area, 6 acres 1 rood 13 perches. No improvements effected; not used by the public. Katikati Domain. Sections Nos. 25 and 26, Katikati Parish. Area, 185 acres 2 roods. Work done during year: Thirty-eight chains fences erected, well sunk, gorse and briar cleared. Improvements now on domain : Thirty-eight chains fences, well with cover, Douglas pump, and clay pipes to horse-trough. Used for regattas, picnics, camps, rock fishing, boating, and exploration of caves (not yet completed). Proposed operations for ensuing year: Erection of carriage-gate at main entrance and two wicket gates, clearing about 3 acres heavy gorse along Maori boundarj' with a view to cultivating and enclosing as horse-paddock, fencing, repairing sod ditch, eradication of noxious weeds, and planting shelter-trees. Kauri Domain. Part of Lot 23 of Section No. 2, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District. Area, 41 acres 3 roods. This domain is under the control of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland. Improvements now on domain : Ring fences. About one-half of the area is covered with native bush, and contains about 700,000 ft. of kauri timber. Some of the kauri-trees are very old, the largest being about 40 ft. in circumference. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Keep fences in repair, and take every precaution against fire. A caretaker is employed. Kawaeawa Domain. Section No. 47, Ruapekapeka Parish. Area, 14 acres 3 roods. Leased on improvement conditions. During the year an area of 4 acres was cleared of noxious weeds. Improvements now on domain: Fences, plantation, smd grassing. Used for grazing and sports. Proposed operations for ensuing year: Stumping, and further clearing of weeds, and grassing.
