No. 461, 1905. — Petition of William Rogebs, of Pembroke Road, Stratford. Petitioneb prays that he may be enabled to obtain a perfect title to Section 92, Waitara West, now held by him under conveyance, rendered void by the present state of the law relating to Native lands. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 29th September, 1905.

No. 392, 1905.—Petition of Te Wheeowhbeo Tawhiao and 276 Others. Petitionebs pray that certain amendments may be made in the Maori Lands Administration Acts, with a view to giving the Maoris better facilities for making use of their lands through the medium of the Maori Land Councils. I am directed to report that, as this petition refers to a matter of policy, the Committee offers no opinion as to its merits, but recommends that it should be referred to the Government, and that the evidence taken in connection with the question referred to should be printed. (See 1.-3b, 1905.) 13th September, 1905. ——

Maobi Land Settlement Bill. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee, to whom was referred the above-men-tioned Bill, has duly considered the same, and is of the opinion that it should be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments as shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. 12th October, 1905.
