No. 217, 1904.—Petition of Otene Paora and 15 Others. Petitioners pray that the law may be so amended as to allow an extended period, up to ninetynine years, for leasing lands in the Orakei Block. I am directed to report that, as this refers to a question of policy, the Committee has no recommendation to make, but is of opinion the petition should be referred to the Government 25th July, 1905.

Petitioner prays that the interest of Huru te Hiaro (his adopted father) in Mangatainoka and other Native lands may be lawfully secured to him.
