I have the honour to submit my report, together with those of Inspectors of Mines, Wardens, and other officers of this Department, for the year ending the 31st December, 1903. The tables showing expenditure through the Mines Department on roads, bridges, tracks, prospecting operations, &c, are, as usual, for the period covered by the financial year—viz., from the Ist April, 1903, to the 31st March, 1904.
